MINNEAPOLIS - May 14, 2009 - CenterPoint Energy awards “customer of the year” to Abbott Northwestern Hospital today for upgrades to heating systems and equipment installation that qualified for rebates from a prescriptive energy saving program that will save the hospital over $9,800 annually. Bob Hallman, manager of maintenance and engineering, accepted the award on behalf of the hospital.
“We’re pleased to present this award to Abbott Northwestern Hospital for taking advantage of our energy saving programs for efficient natural gas equipment,” said David Baker, division vice president of regional operations for CenterPoint Energy. “By replacing old, inefficient equipment, our customer was able to save enough energy to heat over 12 homes annually and Abbott Northwestern Hospital is taking advantage of a Custom Energy Analysis, which as followed, will allot for significant energy savings over time. We believe that our Conservation Improvement Program supports our commitment to a safe and healthy environment.”
The CenterPoint Energy Conservation Improvement Program provides applicable rebates for installation or upgrades of high efficiency equipment, such as: high efficiency furnaces, boilers, water heaters and steam traps. Since the program began in 1992, CenterPoint Energy customers have conserved approximately 10.7 billion cubic feet of energy, which is enough energy to supply119,000 residential households for one year.
