HOUSTON, August 6, 2008 — Southern Union Company (NYSE: SUG) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Roger A. Farrell to the position of senior vice president, midstream operations for Southern Union Company and president of Southern Union Gas Services, Ltd. (SUGS), the company’s gathering and processing business.
Eric D. Herschmann, president and COO of Southern Union, stated, “We are very happy to have someone of Roger’s caliber join our management team. His leadership skills and vast experience, coupled with the talented group of employees at SUGS, will help us continue to enhance and grow that aspect of our business.”
Prior to joining Southern Union, Farrell was most recently a part owner and senior officer at Tempest Energy Resources, a partnership focused on midstream and upstream investment opportunities. From 1989 to 2002, Farrell held various roles with Enogex Inc., a diversified midstream company with gathering, processing, transportation and storage assets and operations, serving as president and CEO, with oversight of all aspects of the company’s operations, from 1998 to 2002.
Farrell will be located at the Southern Union Gas Services’ headquarters in Ft. Worth, TX.
