Tariff's Preliminary Statement
Northwest Pipeline GP ("Northwest" or "Transporter") is a "natural gas company" as defined by the Natural Gas Act and "an interstate pipeline" as defined by the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978. As such, Northwest is subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Northwest is engaged in the transportation (the term transportation, as defined herein, includes storage service), in interstate commerce, of natural gas for Shippers, pursuant to the regulations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The major facilities of Northwest are depicted on the map constituting Sheet No. 4 of this Tariff. Northwest's pipeline system extends from a point near Blanco, New Mexico, through the states of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon and Washington to a point on the International Boundary near Sumas, Washington.
